We are deeply sorry for your loss - the staff at Resthaven Gardens of Memory & Funeral Home
After a courageous four year battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family, Lindsay Sharp Perniciaro went into the arms of her Savior on June 9, 2022. Lindsay was born December 5, 1983 in Baton Rouge and was a resident of Madisonville, LA. She was the most loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece and a devoted friend to all. Lindsay was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy and Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing, where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. Lindsay was very passionate about her love of caring for children as a pediatric emergency room nurse. She worked in hospitals in several cities in Louisiana as well as around the country during her time as a travel nurse. Lindsay is survived by her husband Michael, sons Carter and Luke, parents Steve and Suzy Sharp, sister Mallory Vetsch and husband Ben, grandfather Philip Raymond Carter, aunts and uncles Genie Powers (Willie), David Sharp (Kelly), Karen Dake, father and mother-in-law Brossie and Gwen Perniciaro, sisters-in-law Cindy Kline (Patrick) and Melissa Perniciaro, cousins Victoria Eskola, Drake Sharp and Halee Sharp and nephews Zach Armand and Jackson Kline. Lindsay was preceded in death by her grandmother Joan Kleinschmidt and grandparents Cyril and Marilyn Sharp, great-grandfather Edward Alonzo and great-grandmother Antonia Carter. Lindsay was an avid runner and a lover of Mardi Gras, the beach, all things sports, and was happiest cheering on the LSU Tigers, the Dallas Cowboys (no judgement), the New Orleans Saints, the Atlanta Braves and any sport that involved her husband and sons. She passionately embraced her life as a coach’s wife and boy mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Lindsay’s name as she was also a childhood cancer survivor.
Visitation will be on Friday June 17, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Funeral mass will begin at Noon. Graveside services and burial will be at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA at 2:30 p.m.
To all who knew her, Lindsay’s faith was as strong as ever, buoyed by the scripture Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Lindsay lived out her faith by caring for others and doing the Lord's work.
