Robert “Bobby” Tillar Conner, age 64, was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. He passed away suddenly of cancer while surrounded by his family and loved ones on September 16, 2022. He was a graduate of Belaire High School and attended LSU. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church for many years. He worked for Lamar Advertising as an IT Supervisor. Bobby was passionate about sports and could rattle off any game stat, particularly LSU Baseball and Football. He loved his jazz music and Ole’ Blue Eyes. He was passionate about fine wine, often referring to himself as a self-proclaimed “wine snob.” Bobby’s numerous friendships were vitally important to him.
He is preceded in death by his father, James “Jim” Tillar Conner; paternal grandparents, Jacob “Jake” Wesley Conner, Annie Lou Conner; and maternal grandparents, Edward Walter Robert, and Tee Woods Robert.
He is survived by his fiancée, Laurie Triola Murphy of Baton Rouge; mother: Nancy Robert Conner of Baton Rouge; siblings: John Alan Conner (wife Martha) of Houston, Holly Conner Caffarel (husband Vic) of Baton Rouge, and Scott Conner (wife Mayda) of Kenner; nephews: Aaron Caffarel, Conner Caffarel, and Jake Conner.
Visitation at Resthaven Gardens and Funeral Home at 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge on Monday, September 26th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. On Tuesday, September 27th visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church at 9150 Highland Road with a Mass to follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations made in Bobby’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
